Job Overview
The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining and meeting at the resort. Banquet Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guests' needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.
Banquet Server will follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events; including but not limited to weddings, award ceremonies, conferences, cocktail receptions, and different types of meals. Set up includes tables, chairs, stages, dance floors and audio-visual equipment. Maintain a high degree of professionalism. Maintain all equipment and facilities in an organized, clean, safe environment.
General Responsibilities
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted. Confirm and set up A/V equipment needs to contract for the event.
- Prepare rooms for use; adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed before guests arrive.
- Be in communication with banquet management staff regarding any special needs.
- Assist in ensuring that the events are on time. Adjust as needed and relay that information to the Banquet Manager on duty.
- Ensure proper use, storage and maintenance of all A/V and meeting room equipment.
- Ensure there is proper back up if any equipment is not properly functioning.
- Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all venue areas of the Running Y Resort.
- Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to Banquet Manager.
- If no upcoming events, please have rooms in a readiness position for any possible site inspections. Ensure that meeting rooms are re-set for the next event contract if it is within one day of previous event.
- Update inventory of all Conference Center equipment monthly and store in their appropriate areas.
- Work with Banquet and Sales Staff to transport any and all items needed for an outdoor event on the resort property one to two days in advance.
- Provide all group guests with a lasting experience of the resort with intent for return business.
Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
- Assist Banquet Staff with events and food and beverage services; including, but not limited to, serving tables, clearing plates, running food to and from buffet lines, etc.
Delivering Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic drinks for service to your guests table.
Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by Banquet Manager on duty.
Greet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting.
Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
Understands and can communicate products and services available at the resort.
Demonstrates S.E.E. (Smile, Eye Contact, Engage) daily.
Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the property Employee Handbook.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience/Skills:
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of position.
1 year Banquet or Serving Experience preferred.
Excellent oral communication skills required.
Positive interpersonal skills required.
Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.
Ability to lift heavy objects of 25-50 lbs.
License/Qualifications:
Food Handlers Card
OLCC Certification
Valid Driver's License

This position does represent the company in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances, as a Banquet Server you will be expected to work with guests and visitors to ensure satisfaction. A Banquet Server may need to take initiative and get creative in resolving guest challenges and involve a supervisor only when previous methods have been unsuccessful.
