Job Overview: We have an exciting career opportunity for a skilled Department Manager to join our team at Runnings. As a key member of our store management team, you will play a vital role in driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and maintaining a high level of store operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products to ensure maximum sales potential and visual appeal.
- Set priorities for the distribution of new merchandise within the assigned department to meet customer demand and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Ensure adequate inventory in all areas of the assigned department to prevent stockouts and minimize overstocking.
- Assist customers with purchases, providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues or concerns promptly.
- Work closely with Retail Buyers to ensure awareness of assigned department product needs and other product information to drive sales growth and improve customer satisfaction.
- Assist with the training and direction provided to new department team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Ensure that safety is practiced when handling merchandise by employees and customers to maintain a safe working environment.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work an irregular schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent customer service skills required to provide a positive shopping experience for our customers.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and long periods of standing may be required.
- Frequent bending and twisting may be required to restock shelves and move merchandise.
Education, Training, and Experience:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Customer Service training and/or experience is highly desirable.
