Family Practice Medical Office

General Description: (Job Summary) Assists in the provision of exceptional primary and comprehensive health care as a member of a team of health care professionals; provides direct patient care as required.

Education, Training and Experience (Qualifications): This is a Family Practice office providing health care to the local community. We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN that can work in a medical office practice. Candidate must be able to multitask and have a good clinical background. General Description:

This multi-skilled healthcare professional interacts with and supports other healthcare professionals providing a variety of clinical job duties. This position prefers Phlebotomy.

Education, Training and Experience:

(Qualifications): High school diploma and training as certified medical assistant or LPN, current PA driver’s license required; Knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology. Non-invasive medical office procedures required; Prior experience preferred. Current CPR and AED certified. Clinical and Nursing skills, infection control, medication administration, health promotion and maintenance. Current CPR and AED certified. Knowledge of patient/health evaluation, examination and assessment, histories, nutrition, lifespan development, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, specimen collection; treatments, care, and procedures performed in clinic, data collection, documentation, EMR, patient education, etc.

Ability to create and maintain a safe and efficient environment of care;

Prepare exam rooms; gather supplies; assist in cleaning equipment and exam rooms.

Greet and triage patients, take vital signs, escort patients to exam room, update patient demographics, histories and primary and secondary insurance information; assist with procedures.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, perform laboratory tests done at center and maintain laboratory, stock items, supplies and equipment.

Send refills to pharmacy.

Assist with computer data entry for Patient Electronic Care System.

Perform any tasks necessary for an audit of medical records.

Prepare patients for exams; assist in procedures and emergencies.

Give injections, perform office tests such as EKG, pulmonary functions, throat cultures, rapid strep tests, urine dips, pulse oximetry, vision and audiometric screening, hemocult testing and control testing as needed, etc.; perform wound care, chronic care training, crutch and walker training and collect and process samples.

Provide new patient orientation as specified.

Assist with obtaining prior authorizations when necessary.

Offers support to patients and co-workers.

Adhere to Universal Health Standards.

Sterilize equipment.

Restock supplies and equipment.

Other:

Maintain safe, secure and healthy work environment and environment of care.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge via workshops, webinars, professional publications, etc.

Perform other duties within capabilities as assigned by supervisor or executive staff.

Adhere to all personnel policies in the conduct of personal and employment matters.
