The Business Development Specialist often serves as the face of Rural Psychiatry Associates in the community. They are responsible for effectively creating, building and maintaining long-standing working relationships with community shareholders conducive to carrying out Rural Psychiatry Associates' mission and strategic business plan.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute, under the guidance of the Executive Team, business development, marketing and public relations strategies for attracting and retaining customers to Rural Psychiatry Associates (RPA).
- Learn and familiarize self with RPA's history, mission, vision, values, goals, service lines, daily operations, policies, procedures and guidelines to be adequately informed for when communicating with potential referral sources and/or business partners.
- Market RPA service lines to community shareholders in an effective, accurate, consistent and professional manner.
- Responsible for effectively creating, building and maintaining positive working relationships with potential referral sources and/or business partners.
- The Business Development Specialist will:
- establish new relationships with potential referral sources and/or business partners;
- develop working relationships with any and all professionals who have the ability to refer patients or partner with RPA;
- The Business Development Specialist will:
- assist in the creation and strengthening of referral relationships and/or business partnerships;
- maintain long-term relationships with potential referral sources and/or business partnerships;
- ensure ongoing satisfaction of referral sources and/or partner sites with RPA services.
- Initiate, visit, and follow-up with appropriate networking agencies/referral sources that include hospitals, clinics, emergency/urgent care clinics, skilled nursing facilities, basic care facilities, memory care facilities, assisted living facilities, residential treatment centers, schools, churches, law enforcement agencies, emergency services agencies, social service agencies, Human Service Centers, private practitioners or any other applicable providers or facilities for the purpose of recruitment of new customers and the retention/expansion of existing customer base.
- Research and evaluate potential referral sources and partnership sites, maintaining an updated contact database in collaboration with others at RPA.
- Organize and conduct site visits, presentations, and educational programs to educate community shareholders about the service offerings of RPA.
- Identify, attend and participate in community events to promote RPA, including but not limited to, speaking opportunities, fund raising events, focus groups and presentations, meetings, conferences, sponsorships, open houses, trade shows, etc..
- Communicate via face-to-face, email, phone, mail, online and other lines of communication to potential referral sources and/or partner locations.
- Work collaboratively with administration to ensure marketing initiatives meet business and customers' needs and goals. Establish and maintain relationships with administration, providers and individual departments to represent RPA, specialties, service lines and departments to external and internal customers accurately.
- Assist with the implementation of means of strategic plans, programs, strategies and tactics through written, print, audio, video, or other format as requested.
- Return telephone calls, emails and other communication concerning RPA business in a timely manner.
- Work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Engage in regional travel and occasional overnight travel as assigned.
- Adhere to business goals and key performance indicators. Daily reporting into Customer Relationship Management software is required.
- Gather, interpret and evaluate data to ensure growth objectives are being met;
- Frequently communicate with Administration as warranted relevant to communication with potential referral sources and/or business partners.
- Attend all scheduled meetings as required;
- Serve on projects as delegated;
- All other related duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing or other relevant field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare business development and / patient recruitment is highly desirable.
- Must be a highly motivated, self-starter capable of working towards the accomplishment of RPA's strategic goals.
- Knowledge of business development and/or sales competencies is highly desired.
- Must possess excellent writing skills and be capable of making clear oral and visual presentations.
- Possess the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
- Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others.
- Travel will be required for this position as assigned; must hold and maintain driver's license and must have reliable transportation/insurance to travel to RPA locations and/or community sites. Travel may be by car, airplane or other public transport.
- Will be required to work evening/weekend hours as directed/necessary.
