Pre-Service Patient Resource
- Updates Registration Errors & Warnings, correct and updates the registration information in EPIC.
- Calls patients to gain financial information, create and quote estimates, determine financial status and ability to pay.
- Informs the patient and family of all the possible payment options that apply to their account.
- Collects on the estimated balances prior to the time of service.
- Acts as a resource for scheduling self-pay patients, quoting test prices, quoting special order DME.
- Discusses previous open unpaid balances and bad debt with patients, from warm transferred calls prior to scheduling, making payment arrangements or referring them to the agency prior to scheduling testing.
- Identifies patients who have large out of pocket amounts and works with them to make arrangements for payment prior to new services being rendered.

Benefit Verification
- Obtains and verifies patient insurance information, updates the pre-registration account records.
- Reviews real time authorization events using Experian to ensure testing has been approved, working with the ordering physician offices, to obtain approval prior to service and prevent denied services.
- Follows-up on missing orders and non-authorizations with the ordering physician & patient.
- Screen for “add-on” procedures to ensure tests are authorized or waivers are signed.
- Work with physician practices to ensure the manual referral & authorization are completed prior to testing
- Use the “FYI” function in EPIC to communicate message that need to be delivered to the patient at the time of the registration check-in
High school diploma required, bilingual highly desired, 2 to 5 years previous hospital collection experience preferred. Excellent oral communication skills needed, prefer EPIC experience.
$18.86 - $28.30 Hourly
