Pay Range: $174,678 - $260.270 per year

Summary:
Working with and reporting to the Vice President of Philanthropy, Philanthropic Giving, the Associate Vice President (AVP) leads the philanthropic activities for the RUSH University System for Health (RUSH).
This is a highly visible role, supporting RUSH’s key initiatives The AVP will build relationships and partnerships across the Rush System (Rush Copley, Rush Oak Park, Rush University, Rush University Medical Center, Rush Medical Group) to advance the culture of philanthropy among senior leaders, researchers, clinicians, faculty, and staff at RUSH and raise major, planned, and principal gifts to fund key RUSH priorities and meet annual and campaign goals. They will build effective relationships with the CEO and President of RUSH and RUMC, COO, university president, other senior leaders including department chairs, provost, deans, faculty leaders, and trustees to set the strategic fundraising goals and to successfully complete RUSH’s most ambitious campaign in its history. Utilizing these relationships, they will manage and provide direction, counsel, and support to the major, planned, and principal gift team to develop and implement strategies to move an increased number of wealthy and influential prospective donors through the fundraising cycle.
The AVP is also a member of the Office of Philanthropy leadership team (VP Philanthropy, Philanthropic Giving; VP Philanthropy, Operations and Engagement; and AVP Strategic Engagement) that works collaboratively to set strategic direction for the entire Office of Philanthropy. They will implement new ideas and respond to emerging challenges.
The AVP leads and manages a team of development professionals to continually identify and build a robust pipeline of donors to RUSH and take the necessary actions to move them to solicitation, gift closure and stewardship. They will also manage their portfolio of major, planned and principal gift prospects which could focus on a particular clinical service line, university priority or other RUSH strategic priority. They also lead efforts to enhance and expand the partnerships with medical center and university leaders, trustees, alumni and other volunteers. They prepare annual goals for the team and the department; tracks progress to drive successful results and work to drive efficiency and effectiveness throughout the Office of Philanthropy fundraising enterprise.
The AVP will provide leadership and strategic oversight of the following programs across RUSH; including Principal Gifts, Major Gifts, Planned Giving, Alumni Major Giving, Auxiliary Boards and Pipeline Development.
