Pay Range: $86,195 - $140,275 per year

Summary:
The Physician Liaison serves as a physician's advocate and contact between health system, community, and faculty physicians within the Rush service area. The position will lead external referring community liaison efforts, working in close concert with specific Rush strategic planning and clinical teams to promote Rush programs, services, and providers and to support growth from strategic relationships. The position includes promoting RUMC services and our physicians to health care providers, identifying strategic opportunities for advancing RUMC offsite affiliations, implementing strategies to enhance communications with physicians and other health care providers, conducting service line marketing assessments, analyzing physician and hospital needs, and participation in clinical strategic planning teams. Required Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, public relations, communications or health care.
- A minimum of five years of experience in physician services, practice management or medical sales.
- Knowledge, skill, physical ability and mental capacity to perform tasks associated with the position.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Professional experience in Neurosciences or Otorhinolaryngology sales is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data (including physician activity, satisfaction and health care trends to assist in the development of physician outreach strategies and to provide feedback to the Rush administrators on the needs and perceptions of community physicians).
- Develop department goals and implements specific outreach, relationship building and educational plan targeted to community physician within the Rush service area.
- Be knowledgeable of trends in inpatient and outpatient volumes by service line and in issues important to leadership and the medical staff.
- Plan and conduct one on one interviews to currently referring, prospective and targeted physicians on a scheduled basis and as determined by pre-set call standards.
- Communicate specific information on department and physician driven programmatic and research activity as it relates to community physician needs.
- Consult with clinical team physicians and other leaders regularly to assist in developing practice growth goals; identify and assist in resolving practice management issues that are communicated by referring community; Identify specific services and resources the hospital can provide
- Collaborate with community CME coordinators to identify and expand Rush speaking opportunities in the community hospital settings.
- Collaborate with Rush Alumni Relations department to identify and expand relationship development.
- Integrate consultant activities to maximize managed care and other contractual relationships.
- Assist with the coordination of physician activities and services such as IS interfaces, educational meeting, and other services.
- Identify and work with Hospital leadership to resolve physician and systemic service delivery problems and recommend methods to improve and streamline services.
- Communicate and coordinate on a scheduled basis with Patient Special Services and Rush Physician Referral on community-based physician consultant activities
