Summary:
This position is for a full-time Sr Systems Engineer that supports the following technologies: Enterprise Windows servers, Active Directory, Server virtualization VMware ESX, Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, NetBackup Enterprise Backup, SQL, IIS Web services, WINS, DNS, DHCP, CISCO UCS servers, EMC/NetAPP SAN infrastructure, resource automation scripting. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop collaborative partnerships across internal and external technical support teams to maintain and improve the integrity of the Citrix and VMware server infrastructure.
2. Broad understanding of health care business lines and applications preferred (EPIC).
3. Ability to foster new ideas and concepts and make decisions surrounding complex issues
4. Demonstrated clear and concise verbal and written communication skills at levels appropriate for the intended audience in a professional manner
5. Proven project management and decision-making capabilities
6. Work in collaboration with the project management office to create comprehensive statements of work and detailed project plans involving Citrix and VMware technologies.
7. Develop and mentor engineering staff in an effort to improve the delivery of information technology services across the Rush University Medical Center.
8. Assist Infrastructure Manager in evaluating Citrix and VMware technology solutions that will improve the delivery of EPIC and other business critical applications.
Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or at least 4 years related experience at the same level and/or formal training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years advanced technical knowledge and experience in management of large Citrix and VMware environments.
Installation and configuration of Citrix and VMware server farms
Extensive experience with XenApp and XenDesktop and VMware
Installation and configuration of applications on Citrix presentation servers
Extensive experience with VMware virtualization techniques
Configuration of Citrix load balancers and Resource Manager
Configuration and management of Citrix user policies
Configuration and management of Citrix print services
Citrix onsite and offsite disaster recovery planning and support
Experience with Citrix monitoring and capacity planning tools
Experience in Windows Server and Active Directory
Network management (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Installation and configuration of VMware ESX
Experience with EMC/NetApp SAN infrastructure
