JOB SUMMARY
-
The Staff Pharmacist works under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy to manage care of both hospital inpatients and outpatients in our outpatient oncology department and infusion clinic.
The Staff Pharmacist will: -
Create chemotherapy care plan templates in coordination with oncology staff, recommending appropriate doses, dosing adjustments where appropriate, and providing drug information.

Assist with manipulation of Cerner to improve and maintain safe and effective use of medications throughout the facility. Manipulations may involve drug formulary maintenance from ordering to administration to billing.

Open service requests with Cerner on behalf of the pharmacy when needed and be responsible for testing requested changes, as well as testing and implementing changes to the Cerner Pharmnet applications as required for Cerner updates.

Work with the revenue cycle specialist to ensure accurate pharmacy billing for the hospital and all RMH campus locations.

Coordinate with other hospital clinicians to create and maintain hospital order sets in Cerner.

Assist with the creation and maintenance of pharmacy policy and procedure, facility protocols, and care plans.

Assist with IV pump programming to ensure accuracy with changes to the pharmacy formulary or changes to IV protocols.

Work shifts in the outpatient setting as scheduled.

Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel

Ability to assimilate drug and pharmaceutical information from multiple sources to make recommendations for treatment plans, solve pharmaceutical billing issues, and contribute to overall patient care.

Ability to communicate effectively with other staff members

Ability to encourage, lead, and direct pharmacy technicians to improve productivity

B.S. or Pharm.D
