Pay Range : $ 61,008 - $74,088 Based on NIH scale

General Summary :
The Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center is looking for a scientist to work on NIH-funded studies of modifiable risk and resilience factors including cardiovascular and social determinants of health related to cognitive and brain aging in diverse cohort studies of older adults led by Dr. Melissa Lamar. Principal duties and responsibilities include working with multimodal brain MRI data derived from novel analysis techniques for in-vivo and ex-vivo data, combining this data with risk and resilience factors, clinical, and post-mortem data across cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses of diverse cohorts, and working closely with neuropsychologists, neurologists, neuropathologies, physicists, engineers, and biostatisticians on imaging projects on aging. For those interested, clinical hours and patient care are also available for licensure and board certification requirements. A Ph.D. is required, preferably one related to neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, or related field; knowledge of cognitive aging and brain-behavior highly desired, experience with neuroimaging is desired but not a requirement.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
Work with multimodal brain MRI data derived from novel analysis techniques for in-vivo and ex-vivo data including but not limited to structural connectomes
Combine multimodal brain MRI data with risk and resilience factors, clinical, and post-mortem data across cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses
Work closely with neuropsychologists, neurologists, neuropathologist, physicists, engineers, and biostatisticians on imaging projects on aging
Participate with faculty and other fellows and trainees, in the development of research protocols as well as manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Present findings at conferences as well as at community-based events for participants and the larger Chicagoland community
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
1. Ph.D. required, preferably one related to neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, or related field.
2. Strong skills in writing and good communication skills are required.
3. Knowledge of cognitive aging highly desired
4. Experience with neuroimaging is desired but not a requirement
