Summary : Description :
The Work Study Student is a member of the teaching team who assists with the implementation of classroom activities, under the direct supervision of an Assistant Teacher, Teacher, or Lead Teacher. Work Study Students perform daily routine tasks that establish the basic foundation for a healthy, safe, and educational environment.
Accountability :
- The Work Study Student reports to the Lead Teacher or Program Director.

Personal Qualities and Special Job Characteristics :
Must be a Rush University Student. Must be physically able to perform the job of an early childhood teacher (e.g. able to lift children and / or equipment up to 40lbs; able to stoop, bend, sit and stand for extended periods of time). Must have a warm, supportive attitude toward children. Must be reliable. Must be flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program. Must be willing to accept supervision to improve performance. Must be willing to perform other duties as required.
