Rusk County Maintenance department is currently seeking three (3) summer-help limited term employees. This position will be approximately 600 hours starting at the end of May / beginning of June and lasting through August. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to basic building and grounds maintenance activities such as lawn mowing, weed trimming, cutting trees and brush, cleaning, painting, raking, and hand shoveling materials. Must be 16 and hold a valid driver's license.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Holders of this position are responsible for various tasks involved with basic lawn and grounds maintenance of county-owned properties. This position requires physical labor associated with grounds maintenance. Position holder will perform basic grounds maintenance activities such as, but not limited to, lawn mowing, weed trimming, cutting trees and brush, raking and hand shoveling materials.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Supervisory Responsibility: None Administrative Responsibility: None Public/Customer Relations: The position involves minimal contact with the public or with others outside of their assigned work group. Interactions are generally limited to routine departmental issues, and the focus is mainly on tasks. Government Relations: Must apply understanding of rules, regulations, and guidelines in performance of job duties. Safety of Others: Responsible for personal safety at work and common sense application of safety standards. Complexity of Duties and Impact of Decisions: Duties are of a somewhat diversified nature involving a variety of applications where the employee is responsible for choice of action within prescribed limits or precedents. Position must work toward assigned objectives. Position holder must act independently and use good judgment to plan work, set priorities, assemble information, analyze facts or conditions regarding individual problems and situations, and to determine what action to take within limits of standard organization practice. Must seek advice on non-standard situations. All work will be reviewed for application of sound judgement. Environmental Working Conditions: Position will require use of specialized clothing or use of common personal protective equipment. Environmental conditions will frequently impact physical comfort. Physical Demands/Hazards: This job entails significant physical demands typically found in lawn and grounds maintenance.
