What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Rusken Packaging?
We are currently seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians to join our Clarksville, TN production facility and team! Ideal candidates should have experience in a multi-skilled machine maintenance environment. Corrugated machine maintenance is a plus. You must be the hands-on kind of person who doesn’t mind getting in and getting dirty.
Applicants must have good knowledge and previous work experience with the following: Hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, rebuilding, gear trains, fabrication, and welding. Knowledge of ink systems, rotary die machines, and basic electronics is a plus.
- An operational knowledge of automated machinery preferably corrugated box industry
- A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems conveyor systems
- Trouble shooting and problem-solving ability with practical, mechanical & electrical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings
- Working knowledge of various types of sensors and limit switches
- Working knowledge of power transmission equipment, bearings, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Basic welding skills
- Familiarity with pumps, both air and electric
- Proven safety record and working knowledge of industrial safety procedures
- Willingness to work 10–12-hour shifts, weekends, and overtime as required
- Self-motivated, and capable of working with little or no supervision
- Capable of wearing required personal protective equipment such as hearing protection and safety glasses
- Effective oral and written skills are necessary
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to problem solving in a manufacturing environment.
- Diagnostic, monitoring, and troubleshooting experience
- Will support other staff in day-to-day operations.
- Ability to work well with others
- Capable to lift up to 75lbs
- Sense of urgency to machinery down time due to the manufacturing nature.
- Analytical skills, self-motivation, and initiative.
- Ability to work independently and take charge when needed
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variable in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Able to stand for long periods, reach and stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds by team lifting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
