Job Description – First Shift Sanitation Staff
Russ’ Commissary is looking to add a member to our team whose sole responsibility is to focus on cleanliness of the facility and grounds. The Sanitation position will be responsible for :
- General Housekeeping outside and inside office / plant / warehouse facility such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, refuse pickup and disposal
- Daily and Weekly cleaning of office areas including breakroom, locker rooms, restrooms and hallways following an assigned cleaning schedule
- Daily floor cleaning in warehouse and production hallways, coolers and entry
- Cleaning and Sanitizing of specific rooms in the production facility using our 7-step procedure for compliance with USDA requirements
- Inspection of completed tasks, verifying cleanliness
- Documentation of tasks on our Daily / Weekly Cleaning Sheet and Master Sanitation Schedule
- The ability and focus to prioritize Food Safety and Food Quality throughout the workday
- Communication of any issues to appropriate management
- Performing all duties in a safe and effective manner
- Other tasks as assigned
This job requires handling and use of chemicals and cleaning equipment including foaming units, high & low pressure hoses, brushes, squeegees, pallet jacks, or other tools to ensure sanitary conditions. We are looking for a self-driven team member with great attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Our sanitation team member reports directly to the Food Safety & Quality Manager. Typical work hours are 6am-2pm Monday – Friday, with room for some flexibility. No weekends or late-night work required.
