Student Respiratory Tech (As Needed/PRN)
Summary: Provides professional cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing and care through the assessment, treatment, and education of patients in accordance with the physician orders.
Hours: Vary as needed in the department
Minimum Qualifications:
A: EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Actively enrolled in an accredited school of Respiratory Technology
B: EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in EKG, and PFT preferred.
C: LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required
D: EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, AND WORK AIDS:
- Office machines (i.e., copier, fax, telephone)
- Computer terminal/personal computer
- Hand tools
- Power tools
- Diagnostic equipment
- Patient therapeutic equipment/machines (suction, percussors, etc.)
- Ventilatory support devices
E. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Must demonstrate the ability to understand the unique needs of different age groups of patients treated.

- Must demonstrate the ability to understand the unique needs of different age groups of patients treated.
- Good understanding of cardiac, neuro, and respiratory anatomy and physiology.
- Computer skills, medical terminology, CPR, and the ability to discern normal and abnormal pathology are required.
