What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)/Physician Asst. in Hospital Medicine/ED (PRN/As Needed) position at Russell Medical?
To provide a team of advanced practice providers who can maintain competency for their individual departments. PA/NP works in collaboration with a physician in each care setting as needed. The Advanced Practice Provider performs comprehensive health assessments including history and physicals, procedure, places orders, interprets diagnostic and radiology tests, prescribes and reconciles medications, formulates a diagnosis and treatment plan, adheres to the quality metrics, and discharges patients with appropriate instructions or arranges transfer to a higher level of care as needed. This role includes the promotion of wellness, prevention of complications, and management of acute and chronic conditions. MUST provide excellent customer service at all times. Must agree to train in Hospital Medicine and Emergency Department. Then after 6 months agree to train in Urgent Care.
PRN or as needed with hours that vary typically to be 12 hour shifts during the following times: 6am-6pm, 6pm-6am, 7am-7pm and 10am-10pm
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program
EXPERIENCE:1 year experience as an Advanced Care Provider post graduation preferred
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Current Nursing License in the State of Alabama or current Physician Assistant License (ALBME).Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Maintains current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification. Maintains Continuing Medical Education requirements.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Nursing Practice Act Alabama Board of Nursing (ABON) or Physician Assistant Practice by Alabama Board of Medical Examiners(ALBME).
