What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Assistant- LPTA (As Needed/PRN) position at Russell Medical?
Assists PT with development, management, coordination and supervising all aspects of RMC physical therapy program with Rehab Services Director guidance. Performs selected patient treatment under clinical supervision and direction from Physical therapist. Prepares, assists and provide selected skilled and non-skilled clinical interventions. Responsible for program implementation; including performance improvement, following policies and procedures, marketing, maintain physician contacts to ensure success of program and financial performance. EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant curriculum. EXPERIENCE: 1year experience in physical therapy – with at least 6 months in an outpatient orthopedic setting. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Alabama Board of Physical Therapy License, Current BLS or BLS within 90 days of hire required.
BWR and/or ARC Lifeguard within 180 days of hire. EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS:
Office machines, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, patient therapeutic equipment/machines. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledgeable in regulatory and facility policies.
Ability to work with patients from birth to geriatric; knowledge of medical terminology, clinical conditions, diseases, and injury; ability to solve diverse clinical and business issues with problem solving approach. Program management skills including productivity, performance improvement, risk management, safety, infection control, marketing and public relations; knowledge of insurance policies and issues. PRN: hours vary as needed
