Job Summary:
The Medical Record/Release of Information Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all release of information activities for all types of requests and Audits. In addition, Coordinator will assist the Medical Record Manager with Hospital Statistics. This job will require a high degree of organizational skills, time management, attention to detail and a thorough knowledge of the components and systems as related to medical records. Coordinator must also have a thorough understanding of HIPAA Laws and practices.
Full time with benefits
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High school diploma, or G.E.D. required. Associate Degree of Applied Science in Health Information Technology preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years experience in Health Information/Medical Records
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: none required
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS: Personal computer/printer, copy machine, calculator, Fax machine
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Effective written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of computer keyboarding, and Personal Computer. Independent judgment. Familiar with Medical Record protocol. Familiar with Confidentiality and Release of Information policies and procedures – Thorough knowledge of HIPAA Laws and practices.
