What are the responsibilities and job description for the Waste Collection/General Maintenance - Russell Sage College position at Russell Sage College?
- Performs garbage pick up daily at all hand pick-up stations on both campuses
- Empty all dumpsters on both campuses
- Recycle all appropriate materials and deliver to recycle stations
- Responsible for all maintenance and upkeep of all equipment related to waste management
- Clear pathways and parking lots of snow using shovels and/or equipment as assigned
- Completes special projects as assigned
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Crew Coordinator or Senior Director
The estimated wage is $19.67 per hour for 40 hours per week for 52 weeks.
Job Requirements:
- Must maintain a class II NYS driver's license
- Must have complete knowledge of materials and equipment related to waste management
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 51 lbs. without assistance
- Must be able to work from heights, including mechanical lifting devices
- Must be able to read instructions and safety rules, write sentences, communicate verbally and follow instructions
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Must be able to walk, stoop, bend, crouch, sit, kneel, climb and crawl
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
