Responsibilities
- Assist with Platform’s M&A and de novo site development pipeline from acquisition through construction and site opening
- Assist the VP Design & Construction with qualifying general contractors, project bidding, contract negotiations and ultimately the execution of construction contracts to build or convert new car wash locations
- Field tasks include site assessments/inspections, progress reports, attending pre-construction and construction site visits, punch list walk through’s and follow up, along with coordinating new wash ordering and equipment setup
- Review monthly pay apps and any applicable change orders along with the VP of Design & Construction
- Manage project cost per approved budgets and due dates
- Hold weekly conference calls / meetings with consultants and general contractors to review project status reports and track construction schedule milestones
- Ability to review and analyze surveys, geotech reports, environmental reports, civil and architectural plans
- Coordinate the review and response of RFI’s on specific construction projects
- Collaborate with the Development Team to create, review, sign off and ultimately be accountable for budgets, design standards, and timeframes for project completion
- Maintain individual construction project tracking and reporting that is consistent with department goals
- Responsible for all open wash locations in the region: facility, site, and equipment repair and/or replacement
- Track Facilities & Maintenance Program across the region with the Sr Director of Facilities & Maintenance to allow for accurate reporting and dashboards for management
- Direct relationship management of third-party vendors relating to all aspects of facilities and maintenance of car wash facilities. Source new vendors as needed
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining and updating tracking tools to monitor progress and timelines
- Manage deadlines and report on progress to ensure each project is delivered on time and on budget
- Coordinating the delivery of projects and adjusting as necessary to ensure they are delivered to specifications and our high quality of standards
- Assist with compiling all budgets required for large spend CAPEX projects
- Assist with due diligence efforts for new platform acquisitions and add-on acquisitions to existing platforms
- Collaborate with operations team to ensure facilities are being maintained up to standards
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Review and approve construction and facilities invoices on a weekly basis
- Recommend continuous process improvements
- Conduct other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field preferred
- 5 years of experience in construction or facilities with an emphasis on car wash construction and/or maintenance
- Specialized knowledge in car wash tunnels equipment, vacuum, and point of sale strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of building electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Excellent project management, analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills with ability to adhere to timelines and milestones
- Cross functional experience in large scale multi-unit / multi-brand operations
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Proven leader and ability to work cross functionally with teams in other departments to achieve success
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines where speed to market is a strategic advantage
- Previous use of technology tools: Microsoft Office Suite, Monday.com, and Smartsheet preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects
