Russell Tobin is seeking an Accountant II for a global agribusiness cooperative owned by farmers, ranchers and cooperatives across the United States located in Saint Paul, MN.
Job Title: Accountant II
Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN (Hybrid)
Job Type: Contract
Length: 4 Months
Hours: Monday-Friday 8a-4p
Pay Rate: $45 - $52 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Support capital project submissions and closures
- Fixed asset disposals
- Fixed asset transfers
- Lease Accounting
- Lease additions and disposals
- Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reports
- Reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts in preparation for the month-end close process
- Prepare journal entries with the review for accuracy and evaluate accounting classifications in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Ensure monthly accruals, allocations, and other complex journal entries are accurate as new information is obtained
- Prepare, review, and submit documentation in support of external and internal audits
- Assist with the month-end and quarter-end close process, understanding and utilizing the appropriate information systems and technology
- Assist in evaluating, recommending, maintaining, and monitoring appropriate internal controls and related documentation
- Oversee and manage various administrative processes
- Assist with various projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- 5 years experience in Accounting
- Experience with lease accounting
- Experience with fixed assets
- Experience in SAP Systems
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate spreadsheets, create pivot tables and summarize data from multiple sources
