We are partnering with Russell Tobin, a prominent aerospace and defense manufacturer, to find a skilled Aerospace Buyer to join their team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and services, supporting manufacturing operations across various departments.
The Aerospace Buyer will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, chemicals, manufacturing equipment, and office supplies while staying current with market trends and pricing. Responsibilities:
- Procure materials and services needed for day-to-day operations, including raw materials, chemicals, equipment, and office supplies.
- Research cost-effective suppliers and maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and pricing.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Product Management to manage forecasts, inventory, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles, and production capacity.
- Prepare purchase orders, verify specifications and pricing, and manage supplier relationships.
- Negotiate contracts, monitor inventory levels, and expedite orders as needed.
- Verify the receipt of items and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and accounting.
- Maintain purchasing records and generate reports for efficiency and accuracy.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and JobBOSS ERP System.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and mathematical skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and supply chain management is beneficial.
