We are partnering with a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer to find a skilled Buyer to join their dynamic team. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and services, supporting manufacturing operations across various departments. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, chemicals, manufacturing equipment, and office supplies, while also staying current with market trends and pricing. Responsibilities :
- Procure materials and services needed for day-to-day operations, including raw materials, chemicals, equipment, and office supplies.
- Research cost-effective suppliers and maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and pricing.
- Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Product Management to manage forecasts, inventory, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles, and production capacity.
- Prepare purchase orders, verify specifications and pricing, and manage supplier relationships.
- Negotiate contracts, monitor inventory levels, and expedite orders as needed.
- Verify the receipt of items and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and accounting.
- Maintain purchasing records and generate reports for efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead productivity projects, track department performance, and contribute to cost-saving efforts.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards and assist with training and developing processes.
