Position: Cost Accounting Analyst
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Type: Permanent
Rate: $90k to 110k/PA
Summary:
We are seeking a results-oriented Cost Accounting Analyst to manage financial and cost accounting activities. This role oversees operational and accounting activities performed by manufacturing locations, including monthly and quarterly tasks. Responsibilities include reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and complex manufacturing accounting activities such as cost accounting, inventory accounting, and general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and manage annual costing and inventory activities.
- Maintain inventory standard costs in ERP systems, analyze costing issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Perform monthly and quarterly closing activities, ensuring accurate entries in the standard cost revaluation account.
- Conduct reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and manufacturing accounting tasks.
- Oversee and support quarterly excess and obsolete inventory calculations.
- Participate in annual physical inventory execution and reconciliation.
- Reconcile sub-ledgers to general ledgers.
- Collaborate with business partners and support external audits.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Contribute to ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, CPA, or CMA certification.
- Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) systems.
- Familiarity with manufacturing cost systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Accounting experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
