Job Title: Lab Service Engineer

Location: Fremont, CA

Duration: 12 Months (With possible extension)

Payrate: $45/hr. to $55/hr.

Schedule: Flexible, including 1st shift (7 AM - 3 PM), 2nd shift (3 PM - 11 PM), weekends, and overtime as required.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Lab Service Engineer to support hardware qualification assembly and testing for electrostatic chucks (ESCs) and supporting hardware in plasma etchers. This role involves hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, lab management, and test equipment assembly.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and upgrade ESC reliability and qualification test stands.
• Troubleshoot and collect metrology data on etch tools.
• Organize test data, track results, and manage lab space to ensure efficiency and safety.
• Perform mechanical assembly, electrical troubleshooting, and PCB wiring.
• Work with refrigeration chiller systems, environmental chambers, and reliability test stands.
• Lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods in a lab environment.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with equipment servicing and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on mechanical experience (assembly, machining, etc.).
• Understanding of electrical schematics.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on lab test requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• Experience with test apparatus, cleanroom operations, and data acquisition systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Semiconductor industry experience is a plus.
