Title: Paralegal

Location: Portland, OR 97230

Shift Time: Monday to Friday (8:00 am-5:00 PM)

Pay range: $20/hr - $24.85/hr

Job Details:

Candidate will handle the back end of garnishment levies, child support orders, as well as the review of PDF files and combining them by making sure correct information is there and creating cover pages before dropping in folder to send to another group. They will also be working on data entry, inputting information from orders into system so that the Processors can come behind them to finish. They will be looking up information and verifying it is in ticket utilizing a data base system offered by Deluxe. They will be expected adhere to goals and to complete all orders assigned to them, as manager will gauge what is possible to be completed for that day.

Day to Day:

• Handling court-ordered garnishments received by the bank.
• Reviewing court order documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assisting with backlog items and completing responses to third parties, including sheriffs, attorneys, courts, creditors, and constables.
• Utilizing Adobe PDF for document processing and basic Microsoft Office tools like Excel and Word for tasks.
• Managing and organizing digitized documents received through shared inboxes post-COVID.
• Supporting with garnishment orders, child support, and levies.
• Streamlining processes and ensuring document clarity for team operations.

Must haves:

• Paralegal background or experience working in a law firm.
• Familiarity with court-ordered documents and their processing.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Adobe PDF.
• Detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing work.
• Ability to review and respond to legal documents effectively.
• Strong understanding of state-specific statutes related to garnishments (training provided for specifics).

Preferred:

• Legal education or prior experience in a legal or law office setting.
• Familiarity with garnishment processes across multiple states.
• Experience handling documents in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Candidates with a couple of years of law firm experience.
