Tractor Mechanic

Position Summary:
The main responsibility of the mechanic within the service division is to troubleshoot issues with equipment brought in by customers. This may include but not limited to landscaping equipment, snow removal equipment, hydraulic systems, trailers, diesel engines, small farm equipment, etc.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Confidently diagnose equipment issues and problems daily
- Work closely with Service Writer and Parts Department co-workers to ensure accurate and timely estimates and reparirs.
- Offer preventative maintenance suggestions for equipment that is already in for service
- New equipment assembly and inspection
- Good attendance, positive attitue and willingness to learn
- Maintain safe work environment by performing housekeeping duties
- Any additional duties assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of how to safety use shop tools and equipment
- Good organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of outdoor power equipment, landscaping or snow/ice removal industry is a plus
- Knowledge of diesel engines is a plus
- Light truck repair, tractor repair, snowplow repair
- Basic electrical knowledge
Credentials and Experience:
- Previous small engine experience is a plus
- Previous forklift experience is a plus- we will provide certification
Physical Demands
- Employee must possess the ability to lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing between 40-50lbs
- Required to bend, stoop, kneel, reach and climb to perform work
- May be required to stand, walk and use hands-fingers for long periods of time
- May be required to look at the computer screen for long periods of time
