Sales Account Manager role:
The Sales Account Manager will report directly to the Director of Sales and will be responsible for generating and maintaining sales for various product offerings and services. This will also include networking with customers in increase needs in their region and surround areas.
Sales Account Manager responsibilities:
- Promote and sell products/services to prospects and customers
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in customer accounts
- Problem-solve with customers; identify problems for customer and develop strategies and product recommendations to address those issues
- Get to know customers and understand their processes through customer site visits and meetings
- Attend product trials at customer sites to ensure requirements are being met
- Communication with technical services support team in order to support new product development and design
- Communication with production plants to ensure orders are placed, deliveries are scheduled in a timely manner, and all shipments are completed
- Develop quotations for each customer including cost/sales/margin analysis
- Communication with internal departments such as sales, purchasing, production, product development, accounts receivable, accounts payable, field services, etc.
- Frequent travel outside of the local area
- Degree is preferred
- 5 years of outside sales experience
- Experience working in the steel industry is preferred; other industrial experience will be considered as well
- Strong business acumen, sales and negotiation skills, and communication skills
- Highly motivated, organized, results-driven individual
- Ability to travel, work off-hours and work in a steel mill
