Summary
The compounding pharmacy technician works under the direction and supervision of the pharmacist to compound non-sterile dosage forms. The compounding pharmacy technician is expected to display high work ethic, productivity, and commitment to quality of work. Additionally, all technicians must be team players and providers of excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Under pharmacist supervision and direction, compound non-sterile dosage forms including suspensions, creams, solutions, ointments, troches, etc.
- Follow all applicable standard operating procedures required in the compounding processes, including use of equipment (i.e., analytical balances, ointment mills, unguators, pH meter), various quality control procedures, and safety procedures
- Ensure compounds are prepared in accordance to master formulation instructions and that all relevant compounding guidelines and quality standards are maintained
- Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients during the compounding process per master formulation instructions and standard operating procedures
- Effectively use pharmacy computer system to create and review formula logs and manage inventory
- Create product labels and label preparations per standard operating procedures
- Take part in relevant training and education
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Reliability with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong knowledge of medication, dosage measurement, product preparation, compounding, packaging and labeling as well quality assurance standards
- Strong knowledge of and standards and all relevant USP compounding guidelines as well as pharmacy law and medical terminology
Experience & Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Certified pharmacy technician (CPhT)
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to stand for several hours
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to complete a background check and drug screen.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
