Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to join our dynamic CAPS team at Rutgers, The State University. The ideal candidate will contribute to our large and diverse staff conducting individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, on-call, intakes, triage, and provision of supervision. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and collaboration in a stimulating supportive clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Offers a full range of psychological interventions for students including triage, crisis intervention, clinical case management, and structured group and individual treatment.
- Offers prevention, intervention, and postvention community-based services for faculty, staff, and students.
- Collaborates with other professionals in a multi-disciplinary University based mental health service.
- Offers mentoring and supervision for first year doctoral student(s) in clinical psychology. Participates in didactic and other training experiences to help prepare to effectively and ethically practice as a New Jersey licensed psychologist.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology or related field by start date.
- Successful completion of doctoral psychology internship by start date.
- Candidates who have completed all requirements for completion of doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology or related field except dissertation may be considered if completion of dissertation is anticipated within three months of start date
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest/experience with evidence based, culture-centered, structured treatments for common concerns for university students including depression, anxiety, affective dysregulation, substance use, eating concerns, etc.
- Familiarity with developmental issues of college students.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and skill in working with diverse students, staff, and faculty.
- Demonstrated track record of interest and/or experience in culture-centered, structured mental health care that has relevance for working with a wide range of university students.
- Demonstrated experience with crisis intervention services, triage/rapid assessment, and suicide and violence risk assessment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based treatments for mental health concerns.
