What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Advocate position at Ruth's House of Hope?
The Evening Family Advocate plays an important role at Ruth’s House. This position requires someone who is the Lead Family Advocate’s go-to person. This person must be dependable and trustworthy and is expected to fulfill all of the Family Advocate duties with an extraordinary degree of skill, and dependability, and be competent and consistent in everything they do. This position needs to have clear and appropriate communication with the Program Director when situations arise with residents or other staff. EFA must make and keep professional boundaries with residents, knowing that they also need to inform the Program Director of any concerns or issues that the residents may have.
Work Requirements:
- Maintain strong daily communication with the Lead Family Advocate.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply proper behavior management skills and model them for residents and be able to communicate these skills with a clear understanding.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions relative to accident and incident reports/investigations and the reporting of injury or special incidents. Must communicate with the Lead Family Advocate and the Program Director if necessary.
- Must possess a level of maturity that includes the ability to avoid association with gossip.
- Ability to demonstrate their willingness to adjust their schedule for the needs of the agency.
