School Nutrition Assistant Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assumes responsibility for operation of the Nutrition Services Program in the absence of the School Nutrition Manager
- Assists in training and directing employees in food preparation and service following State and departmental HACCP and other regulations
- Assists in receiving, storing, inventory and production as directed
- Assists in supervision during meal services
- Able to serve on the line if needed
- Able to prep hot and cold food with minimum waste
- Able to assist in ordering, inventory, and completion of production records
- Works cooperatively with all staff to ensure that District standards in food quality, customer service, sanitation, safety and cleanliness are maintained to high standards
- Attends all available countywide trainings mandatory for assistant managers
- Assist with interviewing applicants according to HR procedures and makes recommendations for employment
- Performs other duties as required and / or assigned
- Must complete 6 hours of Professional Standards Training every year
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required with several years' experience in preparing and serving foods to large groups. Must have knowledge of food safety and sanitation or possess a certification of completion for a food safety and sanitation course
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and able to work effective with a wide range of people
- Computer skills
- Willingness to take direction
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule
- Possesses strong verbal, written, and technical skills
- Must meet all health, physical, and background check requirements
- Able to lift 50 pounds and remain standing for long periods of time
