STEM Assistant – After School Hours Required

Position Overview:
The STEM Assistant – After School will play a vital role in supporting engaging, hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities for students in our after-school programs. This position requires strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit to work effectively with mentors, local businesses, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the implementation of STEM-focused programming and enrichment activities.

Collaborate with mentors, local business representatives, and community members to enhance students’ STEM learning experiences.

Assist in the planning, organization, and supervision of daily after-school activities.

Provide transportation for students to and from program sites, as needed.

Use basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and email) to assist with communication and administrative tasks.

Ensure a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for all students.
Minimum Requirements:

Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license with a school bus endorsement (or be willing to obtain one upon hire).

Availability during the afternoon and early evening hours, with a flexible schedule as needed.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and email communication.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience working with school-aged children is preferred but not required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Must be able to supervise and interact with students in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Ability to drive a school bus or small passenger vehicle as required by the program.
