  • *After one year of employment each employee gets one full paid consecutive month off between June and September in addition to the time above.

SCHEDULE/LOCATION:

  • This is not a fully remote capable position.
  • M-F 8:30AM – 4:30 PM (Agency closed to public/ Remote on Fridays)*
  • Some evening hours for groups required

Weekend hours, once to twice a year for community events, are required

  • *To accommodate the changing demands of clients, availability of technology, and employee’s needs to effectively balance work and personal life, RCRJC makes alternative work schedules available. Certain work schedule options may not be available in situations where they would negatively impact the needs of RCRJC and, therefore, all alternative work schedules must have advance approval of the Executive Director.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Supervision is received from the Executive Director.

DESCRIPTION: 

The primary focus of the Justice and Belonging Coordinator is employing restorative interventions to support our diverse clients through, comprehensive case coordination, holding affinity spaces and facilitating the social and emotional intelligence course for youth. This position involves facilitating restorative processes, communication with various stakeholders, addressing needs, and staying updated with relevant laws, community happenings, and protocols. The primary population served will be people under 21, however consultation and holding of adult cases/ affinity spaces will occur.

The Approximate breakdown is:

  • Case Coordination/management: 30% or 12 hours
  • Affinity Spaces 3-5 groups per month: 30% or 12 hours
  • Social and Emotional Intelligence Course: 20% 8 hours
  • Community Collaboration and Trainings: 20% 8 hours

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Manage cases involving marginalized populations including BIPOC, 2STLGBQIA , youth, body inclusive, etc.
  • Co-Keep and/or collaborate with people on identified BIPOC, 2STLGBQIA , and Body Inclusive outdoor affinity/equity spaces.
  • Oversee and disseminate the social and emotional intelligence course to youth aged 10-15.
  • Provide guidance and foster collaboration among colleagues with the necessary resources to enhance their effectiveness working with marginalized populations.
  • Collaborate with state agencies and community resources to support DEI work related to the Restorative Justice Center and Community.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Department of Children & Families, Schools, and other agencies regarding active cases and potential youth referrals.
  • Generate mandated reports for Child Protective Services and/or Adult Protective Services as per legal requirements.
  • Participate in mandatory meetings and training sessions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work some evening hours for affinity spaces

Establishing relationships and fostering rapport while maintaining professional boundaries

  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively with participants, staff, referring agencies, and community resources
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and willing to transport youth in your vehicle
  • Willingness to undergo Vermont criminal and motor vehicle checks upon request
  • Effective time management
  • Clear and concise communication (both written and verbal)
  • Diligent record keeping skills
  • Exceptional organizational abilities
  • Strong self -motivation and innovative thinking
  • *Creative problem – solving to address the needs of youth, staff and the organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, youth development, social work, education, or a related field
  • Minimum of one-year pertinent experience

Proficiency in juvenile justice matters, DEI practices, and/or restorative justice practices. *Training can be provided to meet this preferred qualification*
