What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anticipated Teacher:Academic Interventionist position at Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union?
Otter Valley High School is seeking two academic interventionists to work with students in grades 7-12. Though the exact configuration of interventionist assignments will be adjusted based on the strengths of team members and the needs of students, it is anticipated that one candidate will primarily support high school students in the areas of reading, writing, and executive functioning, while the other will support middle and high school students in the area of math. This teacher will work directly with students and consult with teachers concerning assessment results and implementing research and evidence-based best practices. The successful candidate will also serve as the EST coordinator for students of a particular grade band.
If necessary, training will be provided by the school to increase knowledge of assessments, interventions, and best practices.Essential Functions: Identify areas of student strengths and weaknesses and recommend interventions in the target subject area based on student performance and assessment data; deliver and monitor the success of targeted interventionsCoordinate and maintain EST plans for students identified by scheduling meetings on a regular or as-needed basis, participating in data reviews 3x/year, and communicating directly with student teamsProvide the appropriate educational opportunities, instruction, and assessment for each student on caseload, to include a combination of pull-out and push-in services, as appropriateParticipate in a highly-collaborative intervention team in order to continue to refine approaches to interventionServe on the Otter Valley Think Tank and provide expertise in identifying supports in the pre-referral processParticipate in staff development, faculty meetings and in-service training as requestedEstablish and maintain a learning environment that is conducive to teaching and learning; plan and implement use of learning time effectivelyRequired Qualifications: Holds or is eligible to hold a Vermont Teaching License with appropriate endorsement, with a preference for candidates with endorsement in Mathematics or English Language ArtsExperience as an interventionist or knowledge of effective intervention practices (preferred)Interested candidates are to apply on schoolspring.com. to: Michael RuppelPrincipalOtter Valley High School
