Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union is currently accepting applications for Substitutes (teacher, paraeducator, transportation and custodial staff) for the 2024-2025 school year.
Qualifications:
-Teacher, Paraeducator, and Custodial Substitutes must currently have a high school diploma or equivalent.
-Transportation Staff Substitutes: To drive a bus one must be 21 years or older with a clean driving record and have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a school bus endorsement. If you are not licensed, but interested in becoming licensed, we can help train you.
Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union is located in the north east section of Rutland county and the south west section of Addison County, Vermont. The supervisory union supports six elementary schools and one middle/high school. RNESU is dedicated to the development of character, competence, creativity and community and serves the towns of Brandon, Chittenden, Goshen, Leicester, Mendon, Pittsford, Sudbury and Whiting. Our region is rich in outdoor activities and includes many opportunities to engage in a wide range of outdoor activities and sports as well as cultural activities.
Nearby attractions include the Paramount Theater in Rutland City, known for its exceptional line up of music and entertainment, and Pico Mountain, located in the town of Mendon. Rutland County is in the Green Mountain Forest. Both the Appalachian Trail and Long Trail merge in the town of Mendon. Killington Mountain, just 10 minutes from Pico Mountain boasts the best skiing in the east and includes four season activities. There are many beautiful golf courses in our region and we are extremely close to New York through road, ferry or bridge travel. Local colleges include Castleton University, The College of Saint Joseph the Provider, Green Mountain College and Middlebury College.
RNESU serves approximately 1, 500 students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Our percentage of students on Individual Education Plans is 15.5%. This year five of our district’s schools have poverty levels of 40% or higher.
