Job Description
The Front Office Assistant will serve as the initial point of contact for patients, referring offices, physicians, and providers. This role is crucial in providing an excellent first impression and upholding the organization's customer service reputation.
This position is responsible for key components of financial integrity, including registering patients with complete demographic, insurance, and clinical information to ensure accurate records and timely billing. The ideal candidate will provide accurate information regarding payments to patients and collect co-payments at point of service.
Responsibilities include handling multiple incoming phone calls and face-to-face conversations from a variety of customers with high levels of integrity, triaging, and troubleshooting. Effective communication with patients regarding pertinent visit information, such as arrival times and preparation for clinic visits, diagnostic testing, or procedures, is essential.
This role assists clinical staff as needed and performs all necessary clerical duties to facilitate timely patient care within the clinic. The focus remains on patient needs and efficient use of hospital resources.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of secretarial experience or medical office training, including one year of patient or customer service experience.
- Experience using a computerized health information system.
Pay Range: $15.80 - $23.46
