Job Overview
The Front Office Assistant plays a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. This dynamic individual will serve as the initial point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff members, demonstrating a high level of integrity, empathy, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Registers patients with complete demographic, insurance, and clinical information to ensure accurate records and timely billing for services rendered.
- Provides accurate information regarding payments to patients and collects co-payments at point of service.
- Triages and troubleshoots multiple incoming phone calls and face-to-face conversations from various customers with high levels of integrity.
- Communicates pertinent visit information to patients, such as arrival times and preparation requirements for clinic visits, diagnostic testing, or procedures.
- Assists clinical staff as needed and performs clerical duties necessary for timely patient flow within the clinic.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Work Experience: 2 years secretarial experience or medical office training, including 1 year patient or customer service experience. Experience using a computerized health information system is also essential.
- Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong knowledge of basic computer skills, and moderate knowledge of Medical Terminology.
