Rutland Town School- Long-Term Substitutes: 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade ELA/SS, starting August 22, 2025 - Rutland Town School is seeking three 1.0 FTE long-term substitutes for 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade ELA and Social Studies.
1st grade, August 22, 2025 through November 21, 2025
3rd grade, August 22, 2025 through November 21, 2025
5th grade ELA and Social Studies, August 22, 2025, through December 12, 2025
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes;
Knowledge of elementary research-based best practices including the Science of Reading
Knowledge of MTSS and layered instructional practices including data collection
Knowledge of small group instructional practice using layered instructional practices
Knowledge of effective literacy practices, including knowledge of the Orton-Gillingham approach for intermediate elementary students
Knowledge of proficiency-based grading practices
Knowledge of the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards with the delineation between GRCSU priority and secondary standards
Evidence of integrating technology into the learning environment beyond the Supervisory Union agreed-upon programming
Knowledge of best practices regarding student management protocols
Knowledge of formative and summative curricular assessments and use of data to inform instruction.
Knowledge of best practices to support student social-emotional needs including regulation, restorative, and proactive approaches
Evidence of strong connection with students and families
Strong communication skills as evidenced by a quality application
Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License
Rutland Town School is a Pre-K-8 school of approximately 350 students.
