Experience Requirement: Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience
Position Description: Engineering, Assistant I - Performs a variety of administrative or office support tasks as assigned. Assists department staff in completing assigned activities. May review and issue routine correspondence, update records, check status of in-process activity, enter data or updates in electronic systems, and maintain files and electronic documentation as required. May provide status updates and coordinate routine activity with other personnel and departments. Follows established procedures, maintains the security of project data and keeps senior personnel informed as appropriate.
Statement of Work Summary: Engineering Assistant - Assist Lead Engineering assistant with surveys and translating collected GPS data into AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 for each survey or project. Ensure that GIS data is available to initial design projects and confirms GIS data for projects entering final design. This discipline may be required to travel to areas in the local area outside of the military installation to verify design requirements and quality of work being performed. Assist with accurately accounting and validating air field obstructions annually. Provide feedback to engineers during the design process on constructability and maintainability of projects. Assist with creating architectural, electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil design drawings using AutoCAD and be knowledgeable in engineering tables, plans, and specifications. Be capable of accepting engineering concept sketches, existing redlined drawings, and schematics to prepare detailed finished drawings.
Please note this position must be US National with Existing Secret Clearance or National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is preferred. Ability to obtain NACI or Secret Clearance is required for all personnel without Active Clearance or NACI record.
