POSITION REQUIREMENT: During scheduled-to-work days, keep track of the responsibilities and perform the daily tasks that are listed below.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Arrive at the museum a half an hour before that day’s posted opening-time. Make sure everything is fully turned on and ready to go *see the attached checklist*.
Welcome all guests to the “RV/MH Hall of Fame, Library, and Museum”. Ask people where they are from and quiz them on what “MH” in our name stands for. After they inevitably answer motor home or mobile home, politely correct them by saying Manufactured Housing. then inform them of the upcoming MH Museum addition.
Gather the admission fees (pricing is listed on the display above the cash register on the desk counter) and explain that our gift shop has a strict “no-limit-on-what-you-spend-policy” (meant to be whimsical!)
Offer the guest a brief description of the building layout and what they will see.* See attached document for main points to include during the brief description*.
During down-time, take note of low gift shop inventory and create a list to notify the Administrative Manager. This will make keeping the gift shop well-stocked much simpler. PLEASE LOCK THE REGISTER WHEN AWAY FROM THE DESK. When new inventory arrives, inform the Administrative manager and adhere to pricing/stocking instructions.
At the end of the day, balance the cash accounting slip after closing out the register.
Next, take the cash, cash accounting slip, receipts, and credit card settlement upstairs to the locked desk drawer. Count out the money for the next day and prepare the cash accounting slip for the next day’s worker. (start everyday with $350 dollars…5-$20’s. 10- $10’s, 20-$5’s, and 50-$1’s)
Before leaving, always shut down and lock the Travco in front of the building, and the entry doors on the west and East side of the gift shop. Turn off Founder’s Hall, Go-RVing hall, and anything in the gift shop (G-shock watch display and the TV’s).. If nobody else is present in the building, turn off all lights, lock all doors,
Keep a log of your hours and days worked each week and turn in this information to the administrative manager every 2 weeks.
Reports in line with the President.
