Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for commercial, industrial, and medical projects.
Compile conceptual estimates for budgetary purposes from a napkin sketch, bidgits from partial information, negotiated bids, and competitive hard bid estimates.
Conduct site visits to gather necessary information and validate project details.
Manage bid solicitation through Smartbid to solicit and track subcontractor proposals.
Prepare material takeoffs for self-performed trades such as framing, drywall, and division 10 specialties.
Evaluate Subcontractor bids for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements.
Participate in pre-construction meetings to clarify project scope, budget, and timelines with clients and internal teams.
Collect RFIs from Subcontractors for submission to the client or architect.
Coordinate with Construction Operations and Marketing as necessary to compile complete proposal packages highlighting our qualifications, project team, and similar projects we have successfully completed.
Write proposals outlining our inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications that have been developed throughout the bid process.
Oversee the turnover from Preconstruction to Construction to ensure all the details are accurately communicated to the project management team.
Manage and update the bid board.
Cultivate relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors Follow the bid
Answer Subcontractors questions on projects that are in the bid phase.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the preconstruction process.
Present proposals to clients, follow-up regularly until the project is awarded.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
Proven track record of successfully bidding commercial construction projects from start to finish.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in estimation/bidding software and tools including but not limited to Bluebeam, MS Excel, MS Word, CMIC, SmartBid, Proest, and similar is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various project sites as needed.
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
Compensation:
Salary range of $80K to $100K annually depending on experience
