Interim Director, Medical Staff Services

Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $80–$90 per hour (based on experience, local, and traveler rates)
Job Overview:
Adventist Health Ukiah Valley is seeking an experienced Interim Director, Medical Staff Services to oversee medical staff administration and compliance across multiple locations. This position requires CPMSM or CPCS certification and at least two years of director-level or higher experience in medical staff services. This is an on-site role, requiring attendance five days a week at our facility in Ukiah, CA, while also serving Mendocino Coast and Howard Memorial.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage Medical Staff Services Department (MSSD) administrative staff.
- Train and supervise MSSD personnel to ensure compliance with hospital policies.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards related to medical staff, credentialing, and privileging.
- Participate in hospital compliance teams and accreditation surveys.
- Enforce MSSD policies and procedures.
- Manage and support leadership meetings of the organized medical staff.
- Collaborate with hospital departments on performance monitoring processes (e.g., FPPE/OPPE).
- Assist in implementing and maintaining credentialing software.
- Attend and contribute to hospital and medical staff committees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- CPMSM or CPCS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of director-level experience in medical staff services
