Job Description:
MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgery to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality surgical nursing care, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with the surgical team to deliver optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures and provide perioperative care.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists in the OR.
- Monitor patient vitals and report any changes.
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Document patient information accurately.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Active RN license in the state of Iowa (or compact state).
- Minimum of 1 year of surgical or OR nursing experience.
- BLS/ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
