Job Description:
St. Joseph's Health Hospital in Syracuse, NY, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety by properly cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing surgical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment following industry and hospital standards.
Maintain and operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and high-level disinfectors.
Monitor and document sterilization processes to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure the timely delivery of sterile instruments.
Perform quality control checks and inventory management of sterile supplies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CSPDT) is strongly preferred.
Previous experience in sterile processing or a similar healthcare role is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
