What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Manager position at RVNAhealth?
Reporting to the CEO, the Business Development Manager is responsible for proactively building solid relationships with new and existing referral sources and to deepen and expand our referral base. Working primarily in the field, this sales role coordinates and facilitates communication between various health care organizations and targeted referral sources to help RVNAhealth achieve its growth and business objectives. This position conducts direct sales activities leading to quality referral generation resulting in growth in patient volume and increased revenue.
This position will require travel / driving throughout Fairfield County, CT.
Responsibilities :
Generate business through an established marketing strategy and business contacts.
Enhance awareness of RVNAhealths individual service lines and community programs among all strategic referral sources.
Implement a successful sales action plan with account specific goals and conduct successful sales calls to increase referral volume.
Provide in-service presentations to appropriate staff to increase customer service and maximize the agencys team approach.
Present to and / or join community groups to enhance awareness of RVNAhealths service offerings. Represent the agency at area fairs / events with booth exhibits, as appropriate.
Develop referrals for services with key referral sources including : hospital discharge planners, case managers, and physicians, as well as community Assisted Living, and Rehab facilities.
Establish and implement marketing and sales strategies, associated presentations, sales training curriculums, and service programs and referral processes designed to achieve growth objectives.
Conduct market research to identify specific targets.
Identify and evaluate RVNAhealths strengths and opportunities as compared to competitors; develop appropriate action steps to affect competitive edge.
Promote the organization and services by recommending, monitoring and analyzing advertising and promotional needs, including direct mail, internet, radio, and print / electronic media.
Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
Promote and communicate marketing and sales strategy with the organizations management team.
Skills & Qualifications :
Minimum of a bachelors degree in a business or health related field.
Minimum of 2 years sales experience in healthcare
Ability to execute a strategic plan and marketing strategy and achieve quotas.
Basic knowledge of physician, hospital or skilled nursing facility, case management, and discharge planning services
Knowledge of regulatory procedures including but not limited to Corporate Compliance, HIPAA and Medicare conditions of participation
Established relationships with potential referral sources for home health care services a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and present Power Point presentations and other media to target audiences.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport building, listening and questioning skills. Strong organizational skills.
Self-motivated individual and able to produce results, working independently and as a team member.
Competent in computer-based skills including internet, email, Microsoft Office, and CRM software
Clinical background a plus, not required
Ability to travel throughout Fairfield County, CT
