What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Surveying - Field Surveyor position at RVP Surveying, LLC?
RVP Surveying, LLC is seeking a full-time Field Surveyor for our West Chester, Ohio office. To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work independently or supervise and coordinate the work of Survey Technicians and Survey Field Crews assigned to specific projects/tasks.
- Independently perform most assignments with instructions to general results expected; receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
- Completes and is familiar with preparing ALTA surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, and construction layouts to meet project specifications.
- Must be knowledgeable of all state rules and regulations in which you have professional licensure or participate in providing professional surveying services.
- Evaluates that all field surveying tasks have been completed in accordance with client and project requirements; and reports deficiencies to the Project Manager, Field Supervisor, and/or Field Survey Crew Chief.
Qualifications and Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- AutoCAD drafting - Civil 3D is preferred
- Microsoft Office Applications
- Willingness to work in all types of weather and ability to work flexible hours if needed.
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/responsibilities simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of a robot total station and GPS receiver.
- Valid driver’s license, clean background check, and drug screening.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in Surveying, Engineering, or Geomatics from an ABET-accredited curriculum preferred.
- Experience with Trimble preferred.
- Solo work experience is required.
- Autocad / Civil3D drafting is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-8 years of experience preferred.
- Professional Land Surveyor license preferred.
- Must successfully complete drug screening and background check, including 7-year criminal history check.
Motor Vehicle Record check.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to drive manual transmission is a plus.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
