Chief Risk Officer

The Chief Risk Officer will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive risk management strategy that aligns with RWJBarnabas Health's mission, vision, and goals.

This role is responsible for overseeing the insurance and risk management programs across the health system, including the captive insurance company. The successful candidate will have experience in risk management and insurance in a major healthcare organization or large insurance broker/consultant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Insurance and Claims Management:
• Provide leadership in property and casualty insurance and claims management.
• Collaborate with insurance brokers, underwriters, and legal counsel to optimize insurance coverage.
• Leadership and Strategy:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy.
• Lead the risk management team and foster a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of risk mitigation plans.
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
