Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Medical Record Reviewer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical documentation and experience working with electronic medical records. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Concurrently review and evaluate selected patient medical records for quality and completeness
- Assist in clarifying documentation regarding diagnoses and/or procedures, co-morbid conditions, complications, and other reportable data elements
- Collaborate with physicians, non-physician clinicians, and coding professionals on an ongoing basis regarding documentation opportunities, coding, and reimbursement issues
- Utilize computer software to generate clarifications and improve documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school
- Experience in adult acute care, preferably in med/surg, critical care, emergency, or PACU settings
- Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM coding requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
