Administrative Assistant, Dialysis Unit

Job Overview:

RWJ/TRMC Renal department seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to join our compassionate team. As an Administrative Assistant, your role in assisting our healthcare professionals in delivering gold standard patient care within our dialysis setting. Qualifications:

Required:

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience: One year of experience or training in a secretarial role but candidates with a strong interest in healthcare will be considered
• Knowledge and skills: English speaking skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for providing compassionate support to patients

Preferred:

• Previous Secretarial experience
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate patient records
• Bilingual English/Spanish

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift- 7:00am 3:30pm; 8:00am- 4:30pm
• Monday Friday
• Full Time/Day

Essential Functions:

• Must be proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, Access, Outlook (Set up calendar for Director for Director).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills essential for this position
• Demonstrate flexibility and take initiative & professional telephone skills
• Organize filing system & maintain files, record such as reports, supplies packing slips & invoices
• Collection of accurate daily treatment data for all four renal units & send monthly report tally to accounting department
• Creates spreadsheets and graphs as it relates to renal department
• Transcribes policy procedures, meeting minutes and reports.
• Assists in accurate collection of clinical outcomes data for monthly QAPI
• Prepare bi-weekly renal time cards, review & check for accuracy.
• Maintains appropriate staff documents & sends out appropriate information to HR
• Assists hemo-technicians with maintaining par-levels with supplies order.
• Perform all other duties as assigned
